Congratulations to Tim Wynne-Jones and James Bartleman for being appointed to the Order of Canada. The Order of Canada, one of our country's highest civilian honours, was established in 1967, during Canada's centennial year, to recognize a lifetime of outstanding achievement, dedication to community and service to the nation.
The shortlisted titles for The 2012 Charles Taylor Prize for Literary Non-Fiction were announced on Jan. 10 - congratulations to Into the Silence: The Great War, Mallory, and the Conquest of Everest by Wade Davis!
The winner will be revealed on March 15.
The Canada Reads: True Stories books and celebrity panelists were revealed by Jian Ghomeshi on Q on CBC Radio on Wednesday, November 23.
The Tiger: A True Story of Vengeance and Survival by John Vaillant will be defended by celebrity panelist Anne-France Goldwater who has been called "Quebec's Judge Judy" thanks to her starring role in the reality-TV courtroom series L'Arbitre.
The debates will air from February 6th to 9th on CBC Radio, and the winning title will be named on February 10th.

Foran is also the winner of The Charles Taylor Prize for Literary Non-Fiction and the Hilary Weston Writers' Trust Prize for Nonfiction.
