I'm a lawyer by training, a writer by calling, a sister by chance
and a mother by choice. My writing ranges from features in national
magazines, to essays in The Globe and Mail and The Ottawa
Citizen, to the bestselling The Pig and the Python: How to
Prosper from the Aging Baby Boom and When the Pig Goes to
Market: How to Achieve Long-term Investing Success (both co-written
with David Cork). Dr. R.V. Hodder and I recently co-authored a medical
book, Every Breath I Take: Living with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary
Disease. We used the stories of eleven people living with COPD
you might know it as emphysema to help others cope
with this difficult disease. Critics have called Every Breath
I Take "pragmatic but thoroughly hopeful." This pleases me no
end. The reaction to Dropped Threads has been equally pleasing.
Readers have told me they love its shaded tones and hues of hope
and grace. I'm proud Carol and Marjorie invited me to be a small
part of this community of voices.
